Located in the heart of the Fraser Valley, the University of the Fraser Valley, with over 16,000 students pursuing more than 100 programs, including two master’s degrees, 15 bachelor’s degrees, majors, minors and extended minors in more than 30 subject areas, and more than a dozen trades and technology programs, is committed to teaching excellence.  UFV is a multi-campus institution and is regularly at the top of national rankings in the areas of teaching excellence, faculty-student interaction, and class size. UFV is also committed to indigenization of the institution.

The University of the Fraser Valley invites applications for a full-time faculty member in its post-degree Teacher Education Program (TEP), a 12-month program based on a cohort model.  The TEP provides professional development for elementary, middle and secondary school pre-service teachers grouped into K-12 modules.  The next intake will consist of two modules of K-12 student teachers which will begin in July 2014. The program is located on the Abbotsford campus.

This is a position for an individual who enjoys the challenge of working in an innovative program and whose philosophy about teacher education is consistent with TEP’s Mission Statement, Program Values and Program Goals. The successful candidate would have knowledge of the five program values and be able to embed the values into curriculum design and delivery. The secondary program structure can be found at www.ufv.ca/tep.  It is anticipated that the successful candidate will be able to teach in secondary humanities stream courses related to general language arts and social studies and senior level courses in English, geography and history.
