The Second Annual “DivE In” Seed Grant Competition, co-sponsored by AERA Division E and Deboose, is an innovative way of providing seed monies to Division E graduate students and recent graduates (first 5 years after graduating). 4 to 5 finalists will be selected from among the submissions to “pitch” their research idea in a 3-minute presentation at the 2015 Division E Annual Business Meeting in Chicago, IL in April. The winner will be selected through a vote by those attending the business meeting.
To Apply:Submit a 500 word proposal describing:
1. What and why? What is the specific issue or problem of the proposed project? Why is it important to study? Please be sure to discuss the educational implications (e.g., improve student outcomes, focus on an understudied population, raise awareness).
2. Who and how? Describe the sample and research method.
3. Goals? How will the project advance career goals (e.g., complete thesis or dissertation, publication, help prepare for a larger grant).
4. How will the seed grant be used?
Due Date:Proposals must be emailed in one pdf file to nakagawa@asu.edu by February 9, 2015, 10pm PST. Finalist selection will be made by February 25, 2015.
