Dorm specialist (houseparent) positions at International boarding school in Jeju, South Korea

Korea International School Jeju, in South Korea is seeking North American candidates, especially certified teachers, to be a part of our boarding program

Dorm specialists will work during evenings and weekends to create an adventurous, nurturing and immersive English-language environment for our Korean and Chinese students aged 10–17. The ideal candidate will be able to confidently plan meaningful activities around their own passions and areas of expertise (dance, music, team sports, sailing…). S/he will also be comfortable counseling students and negotiating sensitive intercultural situations. Enthusiasm for the outdoors and adaptability are a must!

Our dorm specialists are assigned to a specific grade-level grouping and will collaborate with two Korean assistants. Previous dorm specialists with teaching certification have moved into full-time teaching positions in the day school, so there is room for growth within the organization.

Benefits include meals and housing, a competitive salary with paid holidays, international health insurance, and a round-trip air ticket to Jeju.

Applicants must be native English speakers with a bachelor’s degree, 3+ years of experience working with children and a criminal background check. Please send a short cover letter and one-page resumé to Michelle Gow at mgow@kis.ac.
