Graduate Student Oral Presentation Competition Three Minute Thesis (3MT)

The Three Minute Thesis (3MT) is an event that showcases graduate student thesis research while also assisting graduate students with fostering effective presentation and communication skills. Participants have just three minutes to explain the breadth and significance of their research project to a non-specialist audience. Launched in 2008 at the University of Queensland, 3MT is now held at universities around the world.

An important addition to 3MT for 2014: UBC’s top finalist will be invited to compete in the Western Regional Final to be held May 2, 2014 at the University of Calgary.  The top 3 finalists from that competition will join the top 3 finalists from the Eastern and Ontario competitions in the inaugural National English language Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition, organized by the Canadian Association of Graduate Studies (CAGS). UBC’s top finalist will also participate in the international virtual Universitas 21 competition this fall!
