The Department of Language and Literacy in the Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow in Literacy Studies.

Job Description: The position involves working as part of a research team engaged in a project titled “Kids Creating Comedy: Critical Multimodal Literacies through Parody and Satire,” funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. This study, under the supervision of Dr. Kim Lenters, examines urban elementary school students’ engagement with the critical uses of humour in popular culture through the lens of assemblage theory. The postdoctoral scholar will have an interest in understanding how socio-material approaches to learning and development inform the area of literacy studies.
