Educational Administration

Applications are invited for a tenure-track probationary position as an Assistant Professor, Educational Administration.

Qualifications: Doctoral degree (or ABD) in educational administration or similar; excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; successful teaching and principal experience in the K-12 system; experience with diverse students and communities, and a developing research agenda.

Responsibilities: Teaching courses in the undergraduate Bachelor of Education program, depending on areas of expertise; and educational administration courses in the graduate Education program; supervising master’s theses and serving on thesis committees. Duties also include research and service to the university and broader communities.

Curriculum and Literacy and English Language Arts

Applications are invited for a tenure-track probationary position as an Assistant Professor, Curriculum and Literacy and English Language Arts.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a relevant doctoral degree in Education (or ABD); have substantial experience in the K-12 field as teacher in the area of senior years English language arts; experience in curriculum development and theory, excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, and have a developing research agenda.

Responsibilities: Teach courses in Curriculum and Literacy at the graduate level and senior years English Language Arts and Literacy at the undergraduate level. Capacity to instruct in one or more of the following areas is also desirable: classroom assessment, instructional strategies (undergraduate), and research methods (graduate). Duties also include research and service to the University and broader communities.

Social Studies Methods, Teaching & Learning Department

Qualifications: A relevant graduate degree in Education preferably at the doctoral level, substantial teaching experience in the K-12 field in the social studies area; excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; evidence of a developing research agenda.

Responsibilities: The successful applicant will be qualified to teach courses in early, middle, and senior years social studies methods at the undergraduate level. Capacity to instruct in one or more of the following areas is desirable: classroom assessment, instructional strategies (undergraduate), and research methods, and curriculum (graduate). Duties also include research and service to the University and broader communities.
