Volunteer for OGPR/GCAC Committee

The Office of Graduate Programs and Research (OGPR) currently has a graduate student (either Masters or PhD) volunteer position on one of its committees as described below:

We are looking for a graduate student volunteer for the Graduate Curriculum Advisory Committee (GCAC). The GCAC serves as an advisory committee to departments and the Dean on graduate policy within the Faculty and administers all graduate program and curriculum changes within the Faculty.

Membership on this committee includes one faculty representative from each Department (EDCP; ECPS; EDST and LLED), Cross-Faculty Inquiry (CCFI), and the School of Kinesiology (KIN) as well as a graduate student and the GSFE Coordinator. Monthly meetings are chaired by the OGPR Associate Dean, Dr. Beth Haverkamp. The GCAC meets every fourth Tuesday of the month from 9:30-12:00pm (approximate) in Scarfe 309C.
The meeting schedule for the GCAC is:

  • September 22
  • October 27
  • November 24
  • no scheduled meetings in December,
  • January 26
  • February 23
  • March 22
  • April 26
  • May 24
  • and June 28, 2016.

Becoming a member of this committee would provide a graduate student with the opportunity to provide a voice for the student perspective on a wide-range of issues and topics relevant to the Faculty of Education as well as the wider University community. If you would like to volunteer for this committee, please send an email to christine.wallsworth@ubc.ca by 4:00pm August 7, 2015, along with a brief outline of why are interested in the committee and what qualities you would bring to the committee.
