Faculty Lecturer of Science Education – McGill University

The Department of Integrated Studies in Education invites applications for the position of Faculty Lecturer in Science Education. The successful candidate will possess a Master or preferably a PhD in education with a focus on science education.

Preference will be given to applicants with a strong background in science, and an academic profile centred on practice and research in science education and the development of science educators. Elementary and/or secondary school teaching experience, particularly in the Quebec school context, and familiarity with the Quebec education program are also strong assets for this position. Other assets include experience in teaching science and engineering-based technology, classroom-based research, graduate supervision, and the ability to function in French. Intimate knowledge of, and connection to, marginalised communities will also be an important asset for this position. Responsibilities will include teaching in our teacher education programs (Bachelor of Education and Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning).

The anticipated start date is August 1st, and the appointment will be for one year ending 31 July 2016. We have a developing Math and Science education team and it is important that the appointee is committed to working within this team.
