The Institute of International and Comparative Education, Beijing Normal University continues to offer International MA & PhD programs in Educational Leadership and Policy (Comparative Education) for international students, in collaboration with the Institute of International Education, Stockholm University.
Master Program
The Master Program is a 2-year program, modeled on the core-course system of the Institute of International Education, Stockholm University, which has been proved to be effective for over 30 years. It allows students to fully develop their academic capacities and provides students with qualifications, skills and competencies to apply for Ph.D. programs in comparative education at Beijing Normal University and elsewhere.
This program will enroll 25 international students for 2015 with generous financial support from the Chinese Government. Around the top 40% of the international students from other countries will be awarded a full Chinese Government Scholarship based on candidates’ academic excellence covering their tuition fees and living expenses for two years.
PhD Program
The PhD Program is a 3-year program, and students should complete their courses within 3 years. Graduation cannot be postponed or deferred and scholarships cannot be extended or increased. Suspension of study (and of the scholarship) will be offered according to relevant regulations only if a candidate has exceptional circumstances which prevent continuation of study, such as health problems. The suspension shall not be longer than 1 year.
The PHD program will enroll around 10 international students for 2015 and about 80% students will be awarded a full Chinese Government Scholarship based on candidates’ academic excellence covering their tuition fees and living expenses for three years.
Chinese Government Scholarship deadline: March 1, 2015 (applicants’ materials should arrive at Office of International Students & Scholars Affairs, Beijing Normal University before that date).
Besides, applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, admission decisions will be made as soon as the review process is complete. Therefore, the earlier applicants send their materials, the more possibilities they could get full scholarship.
