ORW Opportunities through Rehabilitation and Work Society Graduate Award

Award description: Award endowed by ORW Opportunities through Rehabilitation and Work Society for a graduate student in any Faculty whose work or research addresses how policy change can reduce or remove barriers to employment and enhance workplace inclusiveness for persons with disabilities. Preference will be given to a student who, in their academic, professional or volunteer work, is helping to effect policy change and advocating workplace inclusiveness. Students from all Faculties are eligible, but preference will be given to students in the Faculty of Arts and the Sauder School of Business.

Nomination Procedures / Materials:  To recommend a student for this award, please provide the following:

  1. A letter of nomination (maximum two pages) from the Graduate Advisor, Department Head, or student’s supervisor.  The letter must specify (a) why the nominee is eligible for award and (b) qualities, etc., that make the nominee a strong candidate for award.
  2. Copy of nominee’s CV.
  3. Copies of all university-level transcripts to 30 April 2013 (print-out of Academic History from SISC is acceptable for UBC transcript).
