Congratulations to 2019 Faculty of Education International Research Visiting Fellowship Recipients

The four visiting fellows will engage in high quality collaborative and innovative research with faculty and graduate student researchers in the Faculty of Education.  The International Research Visiting Fellowship (IRVF) program is designed to act as a catalyst for subsequent collaborative research with UBC researchers beyond the time of their visits to UBC.

2018 SSHRC Insight Grant

Value: $7,000 to $400,000, 3 to 5 years

Insight Grants support research excellence in the social sciences and humanities. Funding is available to both emerging and established scholars for long-term research initiatives of three to five years.

MSFHR Implementation Science Team Program

Sponsor: Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research (MSFHR)

The MSFHR Implementation Science Team (IST) Program is a new funding opportunity designed to support the implementation and adoption of evidence-based, implementation-ready interventions that will improve the quality and effectiveness of health, health services and care in BC.

Value:
The IST competition consists of two phases, a Development Grant ($10,000) and a Project Grant ($500,000).

Deadlines:
Development Grant Letter of Intent deadline: April 16, 2018, 4:30 p.m. PT
Anticipated start of Development Grant: July 1, 2018
Project Grant full application due: January 14, 2019, 4:30 p.m. PT

2018 MSFHR Research Trainee Competition

Sponsor: Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research (MSFHR)

The MSFHR 2018 Research Trainee competition supports BC health researchers in the training phase of their research career.

Value:
Each Research Trainee award provides funding for up to three years to help protect time for health research activities, enable career development and support the long-term success of the BC health research landscape.

Letter of Intent: March 1, 2018 (4:30 PM PST)
Full Application: April 10, 2018 (4:30 PM PST)

Cofund on Sex, Gender and UN Sustainable Development Goals

Sponsor: GENDER-NET Plus

CIHR is part of an international consortium (GENDER-NET Plus), which will support research that explores the importance of sex and gender in health. GENDER-NET Plus will take the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a point of departure for the topics of this call.

Value:
The total amount available for Canadian researchers from CIHR is $1.5 million CAD, enough to fund five (5) grants. The maximum amount available is $100,000 CAD per year for up to three (3) years for a total of $300,000 CAD, per grant.

Deadlines:
Pre-proposal deadline: March 1, 2018, 5 p.m. CET
Full application deadline to CIHR: July 16, 2018
Full application deadline to Gender-Net: Mid July 2018
