The total amount available for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 Project Grant competitions is $~800M 

Description:

The Project Grant program is designed to capture ideas with the greatest potential for important advances in fundamental or applied health-related knowledge, health care, health systems, and/or health outcomes by supporting projects of research proposed and conducted by individual researchers or groups of researchers in all areas of health. The best ideas may stem from new, incremental, innovative, and/or high-risk lines of inquiry or knowledge translation approaches.

While ORS makes every effort to submit all applications on time and to facilitate support for our research community, applications submitted after the UBC internal application deadline are not guaranteed to receive an administrative review from ORS, which includes confirmation of the application’s completeness.

ORE internal signature deadline for RPIFs. Applicants please email Nandini Maharaj your signed (applicant and department head) RPIF + a pdf of your application. OSE applicants please contact UBC-O’s Office of Research Services for internal deadlines

Deadline to submit RPIF to ORS

Please email signed (applicant, department head, and ADR) RPIF along with a pdf of your application to ORS (ors@ors.ubc.ca). You may continue to work on the narrative sections of the application until the deadline to hit “Submit” online. However, please note that budget totals must not be changed from the submitted RPIF. 

To avoid system and other issues which may cause a delay in the submission process, you are strongly encouraged to submit your application to ORS by the UBC internal e-submission deadline.
