Bio: My passion has always been thinking about what children need to grow in the best possible way. As a doctoral student, my research focused on the impact of the neighbourhood environment on healthy child development. The funding I received allowed me to work alongside some of the most respected researchers in the field. With this background I was able to launch myself into a career as a psychologist and parenting educator. I am now the founder of The Wishing Star LaPointe Developmental Clinic, author of the best-selling book Discipline without Damage: How to get your kids to behave without messing them up, a Huffington Post parenting blogger, and a regularly invited media guest, contributor, and speaker.
