Canada Research Chair Candidate Presentations

Candidates for the Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Transnational/Global Perspectives on Language and Literacy Education of Children and Youth in LLED will be presenting an overview of their research.  All faculty and students are invited to attend and provide feedback.

Dr. Bonny Norton, Professor in the Department of Language and Literacy Education at the University of British Columbia, will be presenting an overview of her research entitled Digital storytelling, young learners, and transnational identities: What Canada can learn from Africa on Thursday, September 19th, 10:00-11:00 in the Digital Literacy Centre, Ponderosa Annex F Room 103, followed by a Question & Answer session from 11:00-11:30. Dr. Guofang Li, Associate Professor in the Department of Teacher Education, Michigan State University, will be presenting an overview of her research entitled Engineering success in school and home: Cultural reciprocity, power, and immigrant children’s multiliteracies development in transnational contexts on Thursday, September 26th, 11:00-12:00 in the Digital Literacy Centre, Ponderosa Annex F Room 103, followed by a Question & Answer session from 12:00-12:30.
