The purpose of this award is to recognize individuals who have made major contributions through teaching, research and/or professional service to the disciplines and areas that come under the rubric of the foundations of education.

Candidates must have made major contributions through service and scholarship to the foundations of education in Canada over an extended period of time. Candidates must be Canadian or have worked in Canadian institutions.
