Stephanie Jull

Dr. Stephanie Jull completed her PhD at UBC in 2012. Her dissertation research focussed on teaching community swimming instructors to support children with autism to learn to swim. As a result of her research, adapted lessons continue at the pool where the research occurred and ongoing training has taken place to ensure that new instructors are also provided with information about autism.

Stephanie currently works as the Director of Programming at Canucks Autism Network (CAN) and oversees a team of over 300 part-time program staff to provide adapted sports programs for over 2000 children and youth with autism across the province. In addition to direct programming, Canucks Autism Network provides training to hundreds of community recreation instructors and coaches each year, and works in collaboration with groups such as the Coaching Association of Canada, ViaSport, and BC Parks & Recreation to disseminate information about autism and improve access for individuals living with autism to a wide range of sports and recreation activities.
