In Their Own Words: The Experiences of Students with High-Functioning Autism Attending College or University

With the increasing prevalence rate of autism spectrum disorder and, in particular, high-functioning autism (HFA), more students with HFA are beginning to transition to college or university. This session will begin with a brief overview of the literature regarding factors that may present challenges to students with HFA in postsecondary education. This will be followed by the results of a study that investigated the lived experiences of students with HFA who attend college or university.
