Value: The total amount available in each area is $600,000. One or two funded grants in each area expected.
Objectives: To offer additional sources of funding for highly rated applications that are relevant to specific CIHR research priority areas and mandates.
Application deadlines:
- Monday November 23rd: OGPR deadline for faculty-level signature on RPIF.
- Tuesday November 24th: ORS deadline for applications.
- Thursday December 1st: CIHR deadline for applications.

- The five priority areas include: Drug Safety and Effectiveness, Infection and Immunity, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Ontario HIV Treatment Network, and Research in First Nations, Inuit, and/or Metis Health.
- Open to applicants in all areas of health research that are aligned with the CIHR mandate, but review eligibility requirements carefully as restrictions apply.
- Applications must be submitted via ResearchNet and electronically approved and submitted to CIHR by ORS on behalf of the applicant.
