Knowledge Synthesis Grant: Fall 2015 Competition

Value: The maximum amount for knowledge synthesis grants is $100,000 for 1 year. The maximum amount for a scoping review is $50,000 for one year. It is expected there will be 15 funded grants.

Objectives: To increase the uptake/application of synthesized knowledge in decision-making by supporting partnerships between researchers and knowledge users to produce scoping reviews and syntheses that respond to information needs of knowledge users in all areas of health.

Application deadlines:

  • Monday November 2nd, 2015: CIHR open for registration.
  • Monday January 4 9:00 a.m.: OGPR deadline for faculty-level signature on RPIF.
  • Monday January 4th, 2016: ORS deadline for applications.
  • Thursday January 7th, 2016: CIHR deadline for applications.

  • There are two types of projects (knowledge synthesis and scoping reviews) in four themes (biomedical, clinical, health sciences and policy, population and public health.
  • Open to applicants in all areas of health research that are aligned with the CIHR mandate, but review eligibility requirements carefully as restrictions apply.
  • Applications must be submitted via ResearchNet and electronically approved and submitted to CIHR by ORS on behalf of the applicant.
