Supported by the Heart and Stroke Foundation and its research partners, the Emerging Research Leaders Initiative provides research operating funds to emerging research leaders in the cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, and/or respiratory health research domains. Dr. West’s primary research objective is to measure the function of the heart and blood vessels following spinal cord injury and to investigate the mechanisms that are responsible for any changes that occur.
