Application Notes: Applicants wishing to apply for release time must receive Faculty approval through the Faculty’s Release Time for Research process prior to submission.
Requests must be submitted using the Canada Council’s on-line application system as well as the Common CV Web site.
The application is “signed off” electronically by UBC’s Office of Research Services, but before they do that they require a hard copy of the application that has all the requisite signatures that fulfill UBC’s own research signature policy, including signatures from the Applicant, their Department Head, and the Faculty’s Associate Dean Graduate Programs & Research (in the case of Kinesiology faculty, just the signature of the Director of the School). To aid that requirement, please attach an ORS Research Signature Template to the application, since the application form does not accommodate those signatures. This document will stay with ORS (it will not be sent on to Ottawa).
