Helps post-doctoral researchers increase their, and their labs’, research productivity. Prepares post-doctoral researchers for successful careers in research, biotech, health policy and more. Award term: three years

Description: The MSFHR Research Trainee Program is designed to attract, recognize, and support outstanding early career researchers who have recently completed a PhD, or are a health professional eligible for a fellowship (or equivalent) program by providing funding that helps protect time for health research activities.

A Letter of Intent (LOI) stage where applicants are screened for eligibility by MSFHR staff.

ORE internal signature deadline for RPIFs. Complete a UBC Research Project Information Form (RPIF) Under “Principal Investigator or Research-Applicant” provide the Supervisor’s name, contact info and department details should be those of the supervisor. Enter trainee’s name under “Is this is a student or trainee fellowship, please enter recipient name” in Box B. Applicants please email Nandini Maharaj your signed (UBC supervisor and department head) RPIF + a pdf of your application.

Email the following to ORS (ors@ors.ubc.ca).

  • Page 1-2 from MSFHR Full application including organization affiliation up to Requested Award Duration
  • Project title and lay summary from MSFHR Full Application
  • Supervisor and Co-Supervisor page from MSFHR Full Application
  • A signed UBC Research Project Information Form (RPIF) Under “Principal Investigator or Research-Applicant” provide the Supervisor’s name, contact info and department details should be those of the supervisor. Enter trainee’s name under “Is this is a student or trainee fellowship, please enter recipient name” in Box B.

Your electronic application should be submitted on ApplyNet by Monday, March 29, 2021 by 4:30pm. Ensure all information is complete. Once you submit your full application to UBC, you will receive an auto email from ApplyNet with a PDF of your full application.
