Value: Fifteen $25,000 awards. Synthesis report due to SSHRC by September 2015.

Objectives:This competition will be launched in support of the objectives of the Imagining Canada’s Future initiative, with a focus on one of the six future challenge areas.  The knowledge synthesis will address the challenge area of: What new ways of learning, particularly in higher education, will Canadians need to thrive in an evolving society and labour market?

These grants are not intended to support original research, rather they are intended to support the synthesis of existing research knowledge on the topic and the identification of knowledge gaps. The call for proposals is scheduled to be released on SSHRC’s website in early January 2015, with an application deadline in late February 2015.  Results will be announced in March 2015.

Special notes: The application process does not utilize SSHRC’s online web forms. The requisite PDF attachments, which include a SSHRC web CV and an RPIF signed by the Director of ORS, must be emailed directly to SSHRC by the deadline.

Award holders will be requested to participate in two workshop meetings in Ottawa. These will be scheduled in early Spring and late Fall.
